Making Much of the Blood

September 18th, 2012

If there is one scene from “The Passion of the Christ” that causes me to fall to my knees, it would not be when they whipped Jesus – although that one is extremely hard to watch.  It would not be when they nailed Him to the cross – yet that, too, is indescribably painful to see.  The scene that so moves me is the one with Mary, the mother of Jesus and Mary Magdalene, where they kneel down and take off their head coverings to mop up the precious blood of Jesus.  Pilate’s wife even sends for more cloth because she is so moved.  They understood the worth of that spilled blood.  They understood how incredibly precious, how beyond valuable, how amazingly powerful that blood was (and still is today).

I have been reading the book “The Blood and the Glory” by Billye Brim lately and it is just such a great book.  It was given to me in the right season of my life and fulfilled something God had spoken to me years ago.  I was at a Made for More conference (more on this later) and one of the prophetic team members prophesied to me to study out the blood.   I did do a word study and found out some awesome things.  But, it was only this year, when my dear friend Judith gave me this book by Billye Brim, that I began to truly grasp the fullness of what God wanted me to learn.

Within the book, Ms. Brim shares some excerpts from the old-timers of the faith.  What made them so strong in God?  So able to overcome the devil and his onslaught?  How did they perform such incredible miracles in the Name of Christ?  They made much of the blood.  W.B. Young says, “The Holy Spirit, Who is the Infallible Teacher, will make real to each one, His way of working this ‘mystery’ of the wonder-working power of the blood of Christ to meet EVERY THRUST of Satan” [emphasis mine].

If you want to overcome, make MUCH of the blood.  I highly recommend reading this book for the full revelation of Ms. Brim’s teaching.  She expands the depth of how to war with the blood, how to plead the blood and how to hold the blood.  With lots of incredible examples of the faith of those we esteem in the Lord, you can learn how to be an overcomer, too.

Be blessed!
